Top 5 ways to CELEBRATE Summer Solstice!

Make the longest day of the year last longer

Summer is almost here, and we are ready for a season of fabulous Crozet soirees. So how do we make the most of a summer event, building memories that will last a lifetime?

Our answer to this: Make the most of the longest day of the year!

What we know about the longest day of the year, or Summer Solstice:

When: Thursday, June 20th
Sunrise: 5:52 am
Sunset: 8:41 pm

Giving us 14 hours and 49 minutes of daylight, equaling more than enough time for the most fun ever!

Ideas on how to make the MOST of this day are below:

  • A Sunset Margarita Party – watch the sunset over the Blue Ridge Mountains at Old Trail Club – whether its a simple dinner, or a privately catered event, complete with cornhole and cocktails. The team at Old Trail are smitten with the idea of hosting a sunset at the Old Trail Pool. Private events can be booked to begin at 7pm – right on time to watch the sunset, pool-side! • A Day of Hiking – start with a sunrise hike and finish with a sunset hike. The Blue Ridge Mountains are just outside your backyard! Host a Brunch at Old Trail Club after your hike – make sure to include Mimosas and Bloody Mary's! Click here to inquire for more.
  • Make it a day of games – whether it's badminton, pickleball, baseball, or even golf at Old Trail Club, play the day away. Fun tidbit: give out trophies to the winners of each game! If you don't want to make time for 18 holes of golf, you can play just as much for half the time in our Virtual Golf Swing Lab. Click here to learn more.
  • Smoke and barbecue outside all day – whether it's just for you, or to include friends and family, a day filled with fresh cooked meat can't be beat. Don't want to bother with the cooking? Our culinary team have just received a new smoker and would love to use it!

Make any of the above ideas stress-free! Reach out to the Events Team at Old Trail Club to arrange all of the details – and make the MOST of your Celebration. Whether you choose to host something on June 20th, or any summer day that works for you - we're excited to make your vision become reality.
