 ><p><strong>Conditions of the Competition<br /></strong>Each team is requir
 ed to sign up by November 5, 2023 by email, call or in-person to the profes
 sional staff. &nbsp;The 2023 Old Trail Fall Classic will consist of two Old
  Trail Guests competing to win their respective flight.<strong>&nbsp;</stro
 ng></p><p><strong>Eligibility:</strong></p><p>Old Trail Guest with current 
 USGA handicap as of November 9, 2023.</p><p><strong>Flights:</strong></p><p
 >Flights will be based on age, gender and combined team handicaps. We will 
 crown a Gross and Net winner within each flight.</p><p><strong>Tees of Play
 : </strong></p><p>Men 59 &amp; under – White Tee Markers</p><p>Men 60 &amp;
  over - Gray Tee Markers</p><p>Women – Red Tee Markers</p><p><strong>Format
 </strong>:</p><p>Day 1: Front 9 - Fourball / Back 9 - Shamble</p><p>Day 2: 
 Front 9 – Scramble / Back 9 Pinehurst (modified alternate shot)</p><p><stro
 ng>Description of Formats:</strong></p><p><strong>Four Ball- </strong>Each 
 Teammate will play their own ball through the green until their ball is hol
 ed.&nbsp; The team will record their NET Best Ball. This format will be pla
 yed at 85 % of your individual course handicap.</p><p><strong>Shamble (Pref
 erred Drive) –</strong> Each Teammate will tee off.&nbsp; The Team will the
 n choose the best drive of the two.&nbsp; The teammates will then proceed b
 y playing their own ball through the green until the ball is holed.&nbsp; T
 he preferred drive is still applicable on Par 3’s.&nbsp; This format will b
 e played at 70% of your individual course handicap. The team will record th
 eir NET Best Ball.</p><p><strong>Scramble (Preferred Shots) – </strong>Each
  Teammate will tee off.&nbsp; The Team will then choose the best shot of th
 e two.&nbsp; The team will continue in the fashion through the green until 
 the ball is holed. This format will be played at 35% of the A player’s indi
 vidual course handicap and 15% of the B player’s individual course handicap
 .&nbsp;<strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>Modified Alternate Shot (Pineh
 urst)– </strong>Each Teammate will tee off.&nbsp; Teammate “A” will then pl
 ay Teammate “B”s drive or vice versa.&nbsp; Two shots are now complete.&nbs
 p; On the third shot, the team will choose the best ball or position to pla
 y from and then proceed under the Scramble or Preferred Shot format through
  the green until the ball is holed.&nbsp; This format will be played at 60%
  of the A player’s individual course handicap and 40% of the B player’s ind
 ividual course handicap.&nbsp; The handicaps are combined to make a team ha
 ndicap<strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>Rules:</strong> All play will b
 e governed under the USGA Rules of Golf.&nbsp; All tall, native or fescue g
 rass and environmentally sensitive areas that border the boundaries of the 
 golf course will be considered a lateral hazard. All balls lost in these ar
 eas will be played under the observed local rule. Please proceed by determi
 ning (in your foursome) where the ball entered the penalty area.&nbsp; Drop
  your ball nearest point of relief, two club lengths from the penalty area 
 no closer to the hole. This local rule does not apply to hitting it in the 
 woods and not being able to find the ball (i.e. pulled tee shot into the wo
 ods on #11).&nbsp; This will be considered a lost ball and you will proceed
  under stroke and distance. You will go back to the spot where the ball was
  last hit and play in from there under a 1 stoke penalty.&nbsp; If there is
  doubt to any rule, please play two balls, and alert the tournament committ
 ee.</p><p><strong>Tie Breaker:</strong> In the event of a tie, the teams wi
 ll play Hole #8 under the Modified Alternate Shot format.</p><p><strong>Awa
 rds Ceremony:</strong> Trophies &amp; awards will be given to the winners.&
 nbsp; Awards distribution will depend on the size of the field.&nbsp;</p><p
