 23\nConditions of the Competition\nEach team is required to sign up by Nove
 mber 5, 2023 by email, call or in-person to the professional staff.  The 20
 23 Old Trail Fall Classic will consist of two Old Trail Guests competing to
  win their respective flight. \nEligibility:\nOld Trail Guest with current 
 USGA handicap as of November 9, 2023.\nFlights:\nFlights will be based on a
 ge, gender and combined team handicaps. We will crown a Gross and Net winne
 r within each flight.\nTees of Play: \nMen 59 &amp; under – White Tee Marke
 rs\nMen 60 &amp; over - Gray Tee Markers\nWomen – Red Tee Markers\nFormat:\
 nDay 1: Front 9 - Fourball / Back 9 - Shamble\nDay 2: Front 9 – Scramble / 
 Back 9 Pinehurst (modified alternate shot)\nDescription of Formats:\nFour B
 all- Each Teammate will play their own ball through the green until their b
 all is holed.  The team will record their NET Best Ball. This format will b
 e played at 85 % of your individual course handicap.\nShamble (Preferred Dr
 ive) – Each Teammate will tee off.  The Team will then choose the best driv
 e of the two.  The teammates will then proceed by playing their own ball th
 rough the green until the ball is holed.  The preferred drive is still appl
 icable on Par 3’s.  This format will be played at 70% of your individual co
 urse handicap. The team will record their NET Best Ball.\nScramble (Preferr
 ed Shots) – Each Teammate will tee off.  The Team will then choose the best
  shot of the two.  The team will continue in the fashion through the green 
 until the ball is holed. This format will be played at 35% of the A player’
 s individual course handicap and 15% of the B player’s individual course ha
 ndicap.  \nModified Alternate Shot (Pinehurst)– Each Teammate will tee off.
   Teammate “A” will then play Teammate “B”s drive or vice versa.  Two shots
  are now complete.  On the third shot, the team will choose the best ball o
 r position to play from and then proceed under the Scramble or Preferred Sh
 ot format through the green until the ball is holed.  This format will be p
 layed at 60% of the A player’s individual course handicap and 40% of the B 
 player’s individual course handicap.  The handicaps are combined to make a 
 team handicap \nRules: All play will be governed under the USGA Rules of Go
 lf.  All tall, native or fescue grass and environmentally sensitive areas t
 hat border the boundaries of the golf course will be considered a lateral h
 azard. All balls lost in these areas will be played under the observed loca
 l rule. Please proceed by determining (in your foursome) where the ball ent
 ered the penalty area.  Drop your ball nearest point of relief, two club le
 ngths from the penalty area no closer to the hole. This local rule does not
  apply to hitting it in the woods and not being able to find the ball (i.e.
  pulled tee shot into the woods on #11).  This will be considered a lost ba
 ll and you will proceed under stroke and distance. You will go back to the 
 spot where the ball was last hit and play in from there under a 1 stoke pen
 alty.  If there is doubt to any rule, please play two balls, and alert the 
 tournament committee.\nTie Breaker: In the event of a tie, the teams will p
 lay Hole #8 under the Modified Alternate Shot format.\nAwards Ceremony: Tro
 phies &amp; awards will be given to the winners.  Awards distribution will
